Typhoon "QUIEL" has slightly weakened after it traversed Northern Luzon.

Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Typhoon "Quiel" is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon.

Estimated total rainfall over Magat Dam catchment during and after the passage of Typhoon Quiel is 200-400 mm.

Estimated total rainfall over San Roque Dam catchment areas is 100-150 mm over a period of 24 hrs which start 8 AM today.

Estimated total rainfall over Angat Dam catchment due to monsoon is from 80-100 mm starting this afternoon.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon.
