URDANETA CITY – Although the widening of the national highway in the city proper here has already been completed, work on it is not yet over.
Mayor Amadeo R. Perez Jr. said the middle portion of the highway will be scrapped and changed with a new pavement.
Funding for the pavement of the highway, from the Priority Development Assistance Fund of Rep. Mark Cojuangco, has already arrived.
To be scrapped is the old concrete put up before the last war that already cracked and only being widened.
The widening was effected because of the vehicle bottleneck along that stretch in any time of the day.
The widening was decided upon after local residents, including businessmen, rejected the earlier proposal for the construction there of an overpass. (PNA)
