Urdaneta City Mayor Rammy Parayno is one of the Top City mayors in Region 1

The RP- Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) completed its nationwide performance assessment survey for all Mayors, Governors, and members of the House of Representatives for their overall performance from March 15-21, 2022.

The "Top City Mayors" results in Region I (Ilocos) are as follows; Mayor Ericson Singson of Candon City, Province of Ilocos Sur, is the top city mayor in Region 1, with a job performance rating of 93.5 percent. Mayor Michael Marcos Keon of Laoag City, Province of Ilocos Norte, came in second place with 92.6 percent of the vote. Mayor Hermenegildo Gualberto of the City of Fernando, Province of La Union, came in third with a 91.2 percent rating, while Mayor Julio Parayno of Urdaneta City, Province of Pangasinan, came in fourth with a 90.11 percent rating.

Ratings and rankings are heavily weighted toward job performance. The Mayor's expectations and responsibilities are broad, encompassing several roles as the local Chief Executive – supervise and implement all LGU policies and programs, projects, and services. Enforce all city-related laws and ordinances. Initiate and maximize resource and revenue generation and use them to carry out plans. Most importantly, addressing and responding to the pandemic's effects—those who ranked first in their respective provinces should be recognized and commended for their performance, according to Dr. Paul Martinez, RPMD's Executive Director.

The "RPMD Public Satisfaction Survey" conducted by RP- Mission and Development Foundation Inc. is an independent, non-commissioned nationwide survey and performed per city in every Region with a total of 10,000 respondents and were asked, "Do you approve or disapprove of the way [name of Mayor/Governor/Congressman] is handling his/her job as (Mayor/Governor/Congressman)?"
