Pangasinan ranks the lowest confirmed case as to population ratio - 1 is to 87,198


In a social media post by the Pangasinan Provincial Police office (PPO), it said that the Province of Pangasinan is included among the Twelve (12) provinces to be covered under the extended Enhanced Community Quarantine as recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) that shall take effect beginning May 1 until May 15, 2020 due to its geographic location and population density. 





It states that compared to other provinces, based on the comparative statistics, Pangasinan marks the LOWEST in confirmed case to population ratio which is 1 : 87,198.10. Meaning, in every 87,198 people in the total population, only 1 person gets infected of covid -19.

The Pangasinan PPO reiterates that in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pangasinan under the leadership of Gov. Amado “Pogi” Espino III, it strictly implements Stringent Quarantine measures attributed to the effective control on the spread of Covid-19 not only within its area but also to the other provinces because the Province of Pangasinan is considered the gateway of the North. With the strict implementation of Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ), all unauthorized person travelling to North were apprehended and advise to return to their place of origin, which helps reduce the cases of other provinces in north Luzon.

The Provincial Director, PCOL REDRICO A MARANAN is asking the general public to cooperate and follow the guidelines on Enhance Community Quarantine and reminding that there will be no more warning to all violators, they will be immediately apprehended and a case will be filed against them.
