The Milk Tea craze and plastic waste it leaves behind

No doubt, the Milk Tea craze is here with even a multinational company like #McDonalds jumping on the bandwagon. Almost everyone wants one and more stores are popping up like mushrooms everywhere. Can't blame the consumers. These drinks are indeed yummy.
BUT, only a few would notice that in the long run, the massive trail of plastic they leave behind, would be everywhere too. This post is not aimed at consumers. Instead, it is for the sellers and retailers who choose to serve these beverages in plastic containers when it has become clear, that we are in the age of an inevitable plastic crisis. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/06/plastic-planet-waste-pollution-trash-crisis/.

Plastics take from 500 to 1000 years to degrade and with the time in between, it is reduced to what is called microplastics which are harmful to ALL creatures including humans.
The beverage is consumed in minutes while the waste is left behind for eternity.
On the other hand, there are a few responsible companies who make an effort to reduce their plastic waste by using paper-based cups and containers. Others encourage the use of reusable glass containers. If they are able to serve drinks in that way, knowing that plastic is clearly a future disaster, why do the rest of these businesses still serve them in these non-biodegradables? Your thoughts?
