PhilHealth to distribute membership cards in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY -- The Department of Health (DOH) will hold the second nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day on June 25, Saturday, in this city, one of the seven venues in Ilocos Region.

In Pangasinan, these are in the cities of Dagupan (Dagupan City People’s Astrodome), San Carlos, Urdaneta and Lingayen town, DOH-Ilocos Director Valerio Lopez Jr. said.

Other venues are in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte; Magsingal in Ilocos Sur; and Aringay in La Union.
On that day, PhilHealth membership cards will be distributed to pre-qualified indigent recipients, mostly beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of the National Government.

Part of the objectives is to encourage informal income earners like tricycle drivers, vendors, and others to register with the PhilHealth to allow them to enjoy medical insurance coverage.

Lopez said PhilHealth first cross-matched its list of indigent members to the list of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Those excluded from the list are the ones listed for this PhilHealth Sabado distribution.

Those who would like to enroll as voluntary members will be entertained too on Saturday.

Accordingly, the target of the National Government is to enroll with PhilHealth 5.2 million families nationwide.

The program is being conducted in coordination with the Department of Education, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Leagues of Provinces, Cities, Municipalities and with the barangays.

Earlier, parents of pupils at public schools were asked to fill-up a survey form, asking among others if their father or mother is enrolled with PhilHealth.
