October 25 declared a holiday

Malacanang has declared October 25, Monday, a special non-working holiday.
In Proclamation number 48 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, October 25 was declared a holiday to give way to the Nationwide Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.
“It is imperative that the people be given the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right to vote,” the proclamation stated.
For regular holidays, employees who report to work will receive 200 percent basic wage for the first eight hours, plus an additional 30 percent of the per-hour rate for the succeeding hours counted as overtime.
For special non-working holidays, employees get 130 percent of the daily rate for the first eight hours with additional 30 percent hourly rate for overtime.
