Pagcor hasn’t approved opening of casino in Urdaneta

PLEASE ALLOW us to make a clarification on the story titled “Casino plan puts Urdaneta gov’t, church on warpath.” (Inquirer, 8/4/10)

Based on existing Pagcor records, the corporation has not issued a casino license for any proponent in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan and neither has it received any proposal from Gulf Traders Ventures Philippines Inc. for the putting up of a casino in the city.

We also take this opportunity to assure the general public of the new Pagcor management’s policy to carefully study and scrutinize proposals for the operation of casinos and other gaming projects, and that it will always take into consideration the public’s sentiments on these matters.
