NBI rescues 14 women in Urdaneta from white slavery

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has rescued 14 women from two alleged fronts for prostitution here, following complaints from their relatives in Visayas and Mindanao that they were recruited supposedly for decent jobs in Manila. The NBI Office in Dagupan City said three mothers in Davao City complained that their children were made to believe by their recruiters that they would be working in a famous restaurant chain in Metro Manila. However, they ended up allegedly being peddled for sex in the VIP rooms of two bars in this city. The bars also forced the women, some of them minors, to go with their customers to have sex in exchange for a "bar fine."
