City bares Limgas na Pangasinan aspirants


Limgas na Pangasinan means "lovely lass of Pangasinan."

The Limgas ng Pangasinan candidates are: Amor Romero of Manaoag, Pamela Amor delos Reyes of Sta. Barbara, Krizette Crishna Unabia of Lingayen, Rosalyn Suratos of Mangaldan, Ludovina de Leon of Bugallon, Hannielyn Almaden (Anda), Thushara Navimana (Sta. Barbara), Lyka Mae Banaag (Aguilar), Jarydel Prado (Lingayen), Ma. Angela Veronica Carretero (Malasiqui), Joy Anne Cornejo (Lingayen), Ma. Victoria Cacatian (Lingayen), Marilee dela Cruz ( San Carlos City ), Elaine Manangan (Binalonan), Lindsay Pauline Poulakos (Bugallon), Vanessa Lorraine Velasco (Calasiao), Eimee Flor Romero (Binmaley), Lovely Angelica Pre (Lingayen), Alannah Guselle Cuison (Dagupan City), and Jea-Ann Finuliar of Urdaneta City.

During the candidates' press presentation, some of the media practitioners were captivated with the charm, sweet smile, and intelligence of Elaine Manangan of Binalonan.

Manangan, 19, is a nursing student at University of Baguio. She stands 5 feet, 5 and a half inches; with vital statistics 34-25-35. She hails from Barangay Vacante, Binalonan.

She said she joined the Limgas na Pangasinan because it is not just a plain beauty pageant like those she had joined before.

She added that her participation in the beauty pageant does not end with the pageant night, as she has a role or responsibility to help the province in her own simple ways.

Manangan said she was convinced to join the beauty pageant by her friends who had joined in the past. Aside from school beauty contests, she said she had joined Miss Teen Baguio and represented the Northern Luzon to Miss Teen Philippines several years ago.



LINGAYEN -- The committee of Pangasinan Pista'y Dayat 2008 presented to the media Saturday the 20 semi-finalists in the search for Limgas na Pangasinan.

The members of the Pangasinan Tri-Media Association Inc. (Patrima) and the Pangasinan Press and Radio Club
(PPRC) chose the "Darling of the Press."


The Limgas na Pangasinan talent night is scheduled on April 28 while the pageant proper and coronation night will be held on May 1, the actual day Pangasinenses celebrate Pista'y Dayat. Both activities will be held at the Capitol Plaza.

Meanwhile, the Pangasinan Pista'y Dayat festivities kicked off last April 4 with the first elimination round of the Konsyerto sa Gulpo (Battle of the Bands).

The grand celebration will formally open on April 24 with the Grand Orchestra Showdown and Dance sport Festival. This will be held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center grandstand.

The other scheduled activities are: Aliguas ed Turismo tan Ekonomiya (1st Pangasinan Tourism and Trade Expo); Takayan na Daye ed Kapitolyo (vocal solo competition); Zarzuela tan Turbaan; Lumbay Langoy, Bisikleta tan Batik (Amazing Triathlon Event); Say Dayat tan Musika (a concert featuring the UP Madrigal Singers); Family and Youth Camp; Beach Volleybelles; Liket tan Gayaga'd Dayat (beach party); Panangidayew tan Pisasalamat (mass and environmental thanksgiving ritual); Banda Parada; and Dayat Ko, Linisan Ko
