Bank manager found dead




Time and again, we get chilly reminders that we are not to be complacent with our surroundings and the people around us. This news is three days old and still send shivers up our spines. URDANETA CITY -- A bank manager was found dead inside her apartment in this city, police report said.

Police identified the victim as Fe Valencia, 32, a resident of Bora, Tarlac City. She was the branch manager of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) based in Urdaneta City and was renting an apartment at Nice Place Compound in Barangay Nancayasan, this city.

Valencia bore multiple stab wounds and some of her personal belongings were found missing. The suspect in the killing was Rodrigo Quitola, a security guard on duty at the compound during the commission of the crime. The victim's family discovered Valencia's body at 3:30 p.m. Saturday when they came to check on her. Accordingly, the family was worried as she failed to answer their calls. Suspecting that something could have happened to Valencia, her brother and other family members drove to Urdaneta only to find her dead inside her room. Investigation revealed that the stabbing could have happened between 10:20 p.m. of March 14 to 4 a.m. of March 15, 2008. Aside from her car, a black Mitsubishi Lancer MX bearing license plate AEM-184 was found missing. Also missing were her laptop, wallet containing undetermined cash money, and cell phone. Witnesses said they saw the suspect driving the car (with his wife onboard) Saturday morning. Police investigators also gathered that Quitola earlier worked out to have his salary advanced, as his wife will be giving birth by caesarian. Charges of robbery with homicide and carjacking will be filed against the suspect.
